As we approach the end of the twelve days of Christmas and jump into the opportunities of 2023, Nemacolin wishes you and yours a very happy new year. Around the resort, the glimmer of lights, holiday parties, festive celebrations, and family memories kept the season shining brightly, and we thank you for sharing the joy with us throughout the holiday season.

Below is a photolog of a few of the festive and fun events surrounding the 2022 holidays at Nemacolin.

Together, we gave thanks, stuffed ourselves full of delicious food at the Thanksgiving Feast, and celebrated the Thanksgiving holiday at Nemacolin.

A cornucopia of flavors was on full display satisfying hearty appetites in the Marquis Ballroom at the Thanksgiving Feast.

Light Up Nemacolin - Project Bundle-Up Check Presentation

Trey Matheu, managing director of Nemacolin, presents a check for $100,000 to Project Bundle-Up. Accepting the donation were Michelle Wright, WTAE-TV television news anchor and reporter, and Victoria Gill, director of WTAE-TV’s Project Bundle-Up through the Western Pennsylvania Divisional Headquarters of the Salvation Army. Gill and Wright also presented Nemacolin with the 2022 Community Service Award.

Light Up Nemacolin - Mrs. Claus & Santa turn on the displays

Santa and Mrs. Claus did the honors and switched on the resort’s holiday displays at the Light Up Nemacolin festivities.

Light Up Nemacolin - Elton John Impersonator — A surprise appearance at Light Up Nemacolin was made by an Elton John impersonator who had the crowd singing and dancing on The Chateau Terrace.

Holiday Light Display at Nemacolin — Light Up Nemacolin set the resort aglow. The annual tradition includes hot cocoa, carolers, and the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus. The big red bow on The Chateau was illuminated with a light show, while displays at The Chateau, The Lodge, Falling Rock, The Peak and all around the resort welcomed overnight guests and members to the glorious holiday season.

Light Up Nemacolin - The Peak — An overhead view of the lights and pools at The Peak, Nemacolin’s year-round hub of excitement and entertainment.

Fun with Santa, Mrs. Claus and the carolers

After their arrival, Santa and Mrs. Claus got in on some holiday photo fun with the carolers outside of the Laurel Lane Shops. Santa also made appearances each weekend from Thanksgiving through Christmas Eve at Breakfast with Santa.

Santa, an elf, and Mrs. Claus — Santa and Mrs. Claus made the season bright with the elves! Children and their parents visited the Laurel Lane Shops for complimentary photos each weekend throughout the holiday season, while elves took a stocking and book to guest rooms for bedtime elf visits.

Falling Rock Gingerbread House Display — Gingerbread houses were on full display in the lobby areas and in weekend workshops. The Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five-Diamond Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired Falling Rock hotel makes a wonderful display of gingerbread, candy, and marshmallows.

Oh, The Chateau! The Nemacolin pastry team went all out with a gingerbread replica of everyone’s favorite place to stay. Throughout the holiday season, families could make their own gingerbread houses at the Saturday morning Gingerbread House Workshops.

Johnny Weir, figure skater — December was a month full of Unwrapped at Nemacolin with holiday parties and show-stopping programming over the first three weekends of the month. For the third consecutive year, two-time Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir visited the resort to perform on the ice.

Unwrapped on Ice - check presentation to Farmington Volunteer Fire Department — The managing director of Nemacolin, Trey Matheu, and Johnny Weir celebrated our neighbors from the Farmington Volunteer Fire Department with a donation of $200,000 in appreciation for all they do to protect the local community.

Unwrapped on Ice - Ice Theatre and Johnny Weir

Ice Theatre of New York opened for Johnny Weir among the glitter, glow, and magic of Unwrapped on Ice at Nemacolin. Guests and members can enjoy ice skating all winter long on the outdoor rink at Lafayette Square.

Unwrapped on Pointe - NYC Ballet — The second weekend of December was alive and festive with Unwrapped on Pointe. Ballet dancers who used to perform with the New York City Ballet traveled to Nemacolin to charm guests with performances in the Marquis Ballroom.

Unwrapped on Pointe - Ballerina & The Nutcracker — Far better than your childhood music box, selections from The Nutcracker brought on-pointe grace and beauty to the stage in two performances.

Unwrapped on Pointe was wonderfully mesmerizing, and the ballet dancers brought magical moments to this year’s events.

To those who were a part of the festivities, we thank you for your support and enthusiasm as we shared a $100,000 donation with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank with Vice President of Sales and Marketing Christopher Baran of Nemacolin emceeing the evening event.

Unwrapped with Magic - Matt Cooper, mentalist — Unwrapped with Magic on the third weekend of December brought the strange and unusual talent of Matt Cooper to Nemacolin.

Managing Director Trey Matheu had a bit of help from one of the resort’s elves in presenting the Fayette County EMS with a donation of $100,000.

Before we flipped the calendar from 2022, Nemacolin hosted unforgettable New Year’s weekend parties with enchanting celebrations, unforgettable meals, and delightful surprises across the resort.

The Diamond Party in the Marquis Ballroom brought live entertainment, dancing, late-night bites, and a midnight toast to ring in 2023. Over at The Peak, there was a spectacular family party with a DJ, games, a yummy buffet, bowling, axe throwing, late-night swimming, and a midnight balloon drop accompanied by an apple cider toast. Kids Club stayed open late for children who wanted to party without their parents, too!
