FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Cast or Blast in the Great Outdoors via Nemacolin’s “Ready. Aim. Save.” Package
FARMINGTON, PA (July 19, 2017) – The Field Club at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort has long been popular for guests who prefer such outdoor activities as shooting sporting clays or fly fishing for trout. Now a new package makes it easy to enjoy both activities while also saving money.
The “Ready. Aim. Save.” Package offers a half day with sporting clays at The Shooting Academy or a half day on the streams in the Laurel Highlands via the Orvis Endorsed Fly Fishing Lodge. Guests can jump right into their chosen activity or opt for private lessons with an expert instructor. Or, they can select a combination package that includes a sampling of both activities.
“Whether you like to shoot, fish, or do a little of both, the Field Club helps put a bit of wildlife into your life,” says Jason Miller, director of the Field Club.
The Shooting Academy at the Field Club features two separate 15-station sporting clay courses. Instead of just a stationary range experience, shooters move from target area to target area via golf carts. One course is designed for beginners, while the other is a competition-level course catering to experienced shooters.
“On the beginner course, our instructors will have anyone who can shoot a gun hitting targets,” Miller says. “Our other course has a much higher level of difficulty. Even for seasoned shooters, we can challenge them and make them better.”
The Orvis Endorsed Fly Fishing Lodge at the Field Club takes anglers to some of the best fly fishing waters in the Laurel Highlands, ranging from the Youghiogheny River to Meadow Run to Laurel Hill Creek to Dunbar Creek. Officially endorsed Orvis fishing guides provide instruction, if needed, and put guests in the best places to catch brown, rainbow and brook trout based on the current fishing conditions and hatches.
The nice thing about both activities is guests may opt to bring their own equipment or can be completely outfitted in the latest gear by the Field Club staff.
Miller says the packages are ideal for a wide range of people, from serious sportsmen to outdoorsy couples to outdoor-oriented families.
“We get a lot of husband-and-wife teams that are outdoor people. They want a place where they can be with top-notch Orvis guides and shooting instructors, while also getting pampered in a luxury hotel with fantastic food and beverage options,” explains Miller. “It’s also great for outdoor families. Maybe they’re not golfers, they’re more of the hunting, shooting and fishing family. In one day, we can get in a lot of lessons.”
The “Ready. Aim. Save.” Package offers three options. They are:
- Shooting Option – Choice of 200 targets on your own; 1-hour lesson with 50 targets and additional 100 targets on your own; or 2-hour lesson with 100 targets. Equipment included.
- Fishing Option – A half-day of guided fly fishing in the Laurel Highlands with an Orvis Endorsed Guide. All equipment included, suitable for beginner to experienced anglers.
- Shooting & Fishing Option – Combines a 2-hour Fly Fishing 101 lesson at the Field Club with choice of: 100 targets on your own with equipment, or 1-hour lesson and 50 targets on your own with equipment.
The Field Club is also home to Orville’s restaurant, an archery range and outfitters shop with all the latest gear.
“All you have to do is show up in comfortable clothes and we take care of you from there,” says Miller.
The packages are available from now through Thanksgiving. Guests simply visit the Nemacolin website and pick out their preferred room, then add on the “Ready. Aim. Save.” Package at the reduced rate of $235 per person, per night, plus tax. That’s a savings of $40 to $50 per person, depending on the package selection.
