Tortoise Encounter

Get up close and personal with a gentle giant! Nemacolin is home to two Sulcata tortoises — Bonsai and Tallulah. With one of Nemacolin’s trained wildlife keepers, you’ll have the opportunity to meet one of the tortoises, feel their shell, feed them a treat, and hear some fascinating facts about them and about their care. Each experience will be unique and can vary based on Bonsai or Tallulah’s participation in your encounter.

Make special memories! This encounter also includes your opportunity to snap a pic beside (but not on!) the tortoise — photos and videos are encouraged.

*For the health of our Sulcata tortoises, it must be at least 70*F to hold this encounter outdoors. Should the temperature be below 70*, this experience will be held indoors.

Reservations required
A notice of 24 hours is required for any cancellation of your reservation or 100% of the fee will be charged. Cancellations within 24 hours or no-shows will be charged the full price
Guests under 18 must be accompanied by a participating parent or guardian throughout the experience
Children must be accompanied by a paying adult
Children 2 or younger are complimentary when accompanied by a paying adult
Maximum of 7 guests per 30-45-minute encounter
Food and pets are not permitted at this encounter
