Official Statement: Sundial Ski Lodge

Official Statement

On Sunday, February 12, 2012, the Sundial Ski Lodge was destroyed by fire.  Fortunately ski operations had closed for the day and the building was vacant. The ski lift and adjacent structures were not damaged and for the remainder of the ski season, Nemacolin Woodlands will offer winter sports including skiing, snowboarding, tubing and dog sledding for our neighbors and guests.

The CaddyShack restaurant will be the hub of activities and open next weekend to accommodate our holiday guests.  We want to thank our valued associates and the countless fire and EMS personnel from the region for their prompt response.  Due to their swift actions, the surrounding activity venues were spared and our ski season will continue.  Although, flames destroyed the ski lodge, nothing can destroy the spirit of adventure that transformed this mountain retreat into a world class resort.

When will Mystic Mountain reopen?
Mystic Mountain reopened on Friday, February 17, 2012 for President's Day Weekend! We are thankful for our associates and for the many emergency workers.  Due to their actions the surrounding area was spared and we will resume our ski season.  The CaddyShack Restaurant will serve as a temporary Ski Lodge to accommodate our holiday guests.

What are the operating hours?
Mystic Mountain will operate on the same hours as scheduled.  This weekend the Mountain will run on normal operating hours: Friday: 2 pm - 10 pm, Saturday: 9am - 8 pm and Sunday: 9 am - 4 pm.

Has the Season's operating schedule changed?

Yes.  Mystic Mountain will close for the season on February 26, 2012.

I will be coming to ski at Nemacolin during the next two weekends. What can I expect?
Great snow conditions and one FUN time! The CaddyShack Restaurant will serve as a temporary Ski Lodge for the remainder of the season.  Food and beverage and restrooms will be available in the facility which is located beside The Links Course and Fallingbrook Mini Golf Course and across from the Adventure Center.

Guests will then be directed to a large Rental Tent which will be located near the top of Mystic Mountain in the Parking Lot closest to our Greenhouses.  Our Rental Tent will be heated and will serve as the Main Entrance for skiers with a fully serviced Rental Shop and include a Coat Check for personal belonging storage.  The top of Mystic Mountain near the Beginners Hill will host Men's and Women's Portable Bathrooms and a Ski Patrol / First Aid Trailer.  A heated Hospitality Tent complete with light food and beverage will also be near the top of the Mountain.  We will also have temporary storage racks located at the top of the Mountain so you may leave equipment when traveling to and from the CaddyShack.  Please note, that Nemacolin is not responsible for lost or stolen equipment.

How far is the CaddyShack from Mystic Mountain?
The CaddyShack is located directly across from Mystic Mountain.  It is separated by a large parking lot.  For added convenience, Nemacolin will offer a dedicated Shuttle service from the Rental Tent to the CaddyShack, as well as, Golf Cart transportation.

What kind of food will be served at the CaddyShack?
The CaddyShack's food and beverage operations will mimic that of the Ski Lodge.  We will offer Buffet style food in the upstairs of the CaddyShack as well as a Continental Breakfast Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings of President's Day Weekend.  The Main floor will offer bar services and restrooms.  Outdoor patio dining will be available.  The CaddyShack will also allow guests to store their equipment on the decks when dining.  Please note, that Nemacolin is not responsible for lost or stolen equipment.

Will Rentals be available?

Thank you to our friends at Seven Springs Ski Resort for graciously providing us with some Skis and Snowboards for the remainder of the season.  We will offer Ski Sizes: 70, 80, 90, 100, 110, 120, 130, 142, 152 and 162.  Also, we will have boot sizes available to rent.  We currently do have a limited number of Junior Rentals (7 & under) as well as Snowboards.  Due to our limited availability we recommend guests support their local ski shops for rentals prior to arriving.
