Nemacolin Woodlands Resort Recognized with Condé Nast Traveler’s 2016 Readers’ Choice Award
Farmington, PA (October 18, 2016) – Condé Nast Traveler today announced the results of its 29th annual Readers’ Choice Awards, with Falling Rock, a boutique hotel at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, recognized as the #4 Top Resort in the New York & Mid-Atlantic region.
“We’re so proud of Falling Rock and, indeed, our entire resort,” said Monte Hansen, Nemacolin’s managing director. “Awards such as this speak volumes about our associates’ commitment to the guest experience. We’re thrilled readers of such a prestigious publication have voted to include us on this list of top resorts, especially in a region as competitive as ours.”
More than 300,000 dedicated readers – nearly twice as many as last year – cast votes for 7,394 hotels, 606 cities, 500 cruise ships, and 236 islands, in an average survey time of 8.4 minutes. The result? The 1,402 best travel experiences in the world.
Falling Rock is just one of five accommodation options at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, which is situated on nearly 2,000 acres in Pennsylvania’s Laurel Highlands. This 42-room boutique hotel earns raves for its unique design, which is a tribute to the architectural style of Frank Lloyd Wright, who designed homes nearby. Falling Rock sits on the 18th green of Mystic Rock, a PGA Tour-tested golf course designed by Pete Dye. Dye and his team are currently working on a second course for the resort, Shepherd’s Rock, set to open in summer 2017. One of the many features that sets Falling Rock apart is the 24-hour butler service offered to every guest. Butlers provide services that include everything from unpacking and packing clothes to shining shoes and detailing golf spikes. Perhaps the most anticipated service, though, is their evening delivery of homemade milk and cookies.
The Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards are the longest running and most prestigious recognition of excellence in the travel industry and are commonly known as “the best of the best of travel.” Under Editor in Chief Pilar Guzmán, the Readers’ Choice Awards have become more selective and specific to the passions that inspire today’s travelers.
The Readers’ Choice Awards are announced in the November issue of Condé Nast Traveler, on newsstands nationwide on October 25, 2016. The full list is published exclusively online, at CNTraveler.com/rca.
This is the fourth year in a row that Nemacolin has been recognized by the readers of Conde Nast Traveler.
