Farmington, PA, (January 6, 2006) – The David Leadbetter Golf Academy, recognized as the world leader in golf instruction has established a permanent academy site at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort. The David Leadbetter Academy at Nemacolin Woodlands resort will hold classes May through September offering a variety of programs including one, two, and three day schools and private instruction for every level of golfer.

The David Leadbetter Academy at Nemacolin Woodlands is a 3,000 square-foot facility featuring four hitting bays equipped with the latest electronic and video technology, an indoor classroom for 20 students, and an indoor short game area including putting greens, a chipping area, and green-side bunker shots. In addition the center offers club repair, club fitting and product analysis.

Adam Bazalgette, Academy Director
Adam is a Leadbetter Certified Senior Instructor, and serves as Academy Director at both the David Leadbetter Academy at Nemacolin Woodlands and Naples, Florida. A native of Great Britain, Adam relocated to Florida in 1977 and began taking lessons from David Leadbetter in 1981 while playing on the Florida mini-tours. Adam began his teaching career in 1985 at Errol Country Club in Orlando, FL, where he was assistant golf professional before moving to Myrtle Beach, SC, in 1989 where he taught at Phil Rison’s Golf School. From there he moved to the Woodcrest Club on Long Island before joining the David Leadbetter staff in Orlando in 1992. He became Academy Director in Naples in 1993.

Dennis Clark, Director of Golf, Nemacolin Woodlands Resort
Dennis is a PGA Master Professional. He was recognized by Golf Digest as one of the Top Ten Teachers in Pennsylvania for 200 -- the award is determined based on voting among other teaching professionals – and by the Tri-State Section of the PGA of America as Merchandiser of the Year in the Resort Category. He was named 1996 PGA Teacher of the Year in his native Philadelphia section by Golf Digest. He has also been awarded the PGA Advanced Specialty Certification in Golf Instruction.

Both Golf and Golf Digest magazines have recognized Dennis as the top teacher in the Mid-Atlantic region, and the Golfers Journal acknowledged him as the Teacher of the Year in 1996, 97, 98, and 99. He is currently a top-100 teacher nominee for Golf Magazine.

Mystic Rock Golf Course

Mystic Rock, home to The 84 Lumber Classic of Pennsylvania, a PGA tour event, is a par 72, 7,511-yard layout. Mystic Rock boasts a course rating of 78.1 and slope of 151 from the Championship tees. Mystic Rock, a Pete Dye signature course, spans more than 200 acres of spectacular Pennsylvania landscape and has received multiple honors from GOLF Magazine and Golf Digest including a “Best Places to Play” rating of 4.5 Stars from Golf Digest. The entire experience is accentuated with natural rock outcroppings, challenging greens, wide expanses of Sahara-like bunkers and lakes. Every portion of the course was considered, planned and constructed with play and nature in mind.

In addition to the 84 Lumber Classic, Mystic Rock is host to the annual Falling Rock Classic, a tri-state PGA section event which offers a total purse of $150,000 and sponsor’s exemptions for the top two finishers into the PGA TOUR 84 Lumber Classic. The course has also been chosen to host the 2006 Pennsylvania State Open, a USGA 2006 qualifying tournament for the United States Mid-Amateur Championship, and the 2007 Western Pennsylvania Open.
