April 28, 2006 (Farmington, PA.) — Nemacolin Woodlands Resort is the place to be for families on the 4th of July weekend. Pennsylvania’s premier Mobil 4-Star and AAA 4-Diamond resort offers a weekend packed with activities for families, highlighted by a Warplane Showcase featuring vintage airplanes, an Independence Day Parade, and spectacular fireworks show by legendary Zambelli Fireworks.

“The 4th of July weekend is always a high point for vacationing families,” says Trey Matheu, director of resort operations for Nemacolin Woodlands. “At Nemacolin, we place heavy emphasis on activities and options for families all throughout the year, but this weekend in particular is going to something special.”

The holiday weekends starts with an evening of mini-golf at the resort’s Fallingbrook Mini-Golf Course on Friday. Saturday will be packed with fun, including a Family Challenge featuring mini-golf, rock climbing wall and paintball target shooting competitions; chainsaw carving demonstrations by artists with the National Road Chainsaw Carving Festival; and a showcase of vintage warplanes. On Saturday evening, Nemacolin’s special Pub & Play returns with arcade games, hayrides, family bingo, Hummer® rides, and live entertainment. Sunday features carnival games on the Croquet Court; family games – such as the Three Legged Relay Race, Potato Sack Race, Pie Eating Contest and Balloon Toss; a strolling photographer taking family photos, and a special Independence Day Parade that starts at 2:00 p.m. The highlight of the weekend is Sunday evening’s elaborate fireworks display set to music, created by legendary Zambelli Fireworks.
