A walk around the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort is quite simply a study in world renowned art. From the walls to the grounds, art of various mediums – paintings, sculptures, furniture, glasswork, historical artifacts – is showcased for guest enjoyment and enjoy. Our founder, Joseph A. Hardy, III, has always shown a great appreciation for art and an even greater passion to share his personal collection with others.
The Hardy Family Art Collection includes fine and decorative art, antiques, collectibles, vintage aircraft, automobiles, firearms and canoes. The collection ranges from local talent to Lautrec and accents the property's decor both inside and out.
Consisting of nearly 1000 individual pieces and valued at over $45 million, the Hardy Family Art Collection graces all aspects of the resort - from common areas to the Presidential Suite.
The Collection includes artists such as Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Alexander Calder, Fernando Botero, Clarice Smith, Giampaolo Seguso, Frederic Remington, Tiffany Studios, Howard Behrens, J.J. Audubon, Frank Stella and more.

On the drive from Falling Rock to the Chateau LaFayette, take a peek inside the Auto Toy Store with classic and antique automobiles or the Airplane Hanger for a look at an original U.S. Mail airplane or a plane once owned by legendary actor Steve McQueen.
Complimentary art tours are conducted daily at 3:00 p.m. starting in the lobby of the Chateau. Special tours are also available to be arranged for groups.
