The Nemacolin Field Club

The Field Club

Woven throughout 140-acres of woodlands, valleys and pastures in the Laurel Highlands Mountains, the Nemacolin Field Club complex houses one of the nation's top sporting clay facilities and the gateway to some of the finest fishing streams and creeks in the Eastern United States.

Four-miles from Nemacolin Woodlands Resort on a 140-acre complex is one of the nation's top sporting clays facilities: The Shooting Academy. Featuring 35 sporting clay stations spread across two courses, towers and two five-stand pavilions with an integrated Wobble Trap Field, the course can be tailored to challenge everyone from the most seasoned wing shooter to the novice shooter. We invite you to spend an hour or an afternoon on our course; you will be amazed at how much your confidence grows with each shot.

The Shooting Academy's offerings and amenities include a variety of Shooting Instructional Packages, Junior Lessons, as well as Clay Packages, Supplies and an Annual Membership

Think of it as "golf with a shotgun." Sporting clay targets are projected to imitate wild game birds and are thrown at a variety of angles, heights and distances. The closest thing to field shooting of any shotgun sport, our two courses feature two five-stands and a wobble trab field along with a total of 35 stations laid out over Pennsylvania's Laurel Highlands.

First time shooters are guaranteed to break targets with the help of our National Sporting Clay Association (NSCA) certified male and female instructors. With private lessons available by reservation for beginners to advanced shooters, sporting clays are a sport for the whole family.

The Orvis® Endorsed Fly Fishing Lodge at The Nemacolin Field Club is your gateway to some of the finest fly fishing streams and creeks in the Eastern United States. Anglers of any skill level can choose from a number of Pennsylvania trout streams including the Youghiogheny River, a waterway that flows north from Maryland and into the Monongahela just before it joins with the Allegheny to form the Ohio River. There is also Meadow Run, Dunbar Creek and Beaver Creek, where browns, brookies and rainbow trout swim in numbers.

The Orvis® Fly Fishing Center offers Half and Full-Day Guided Trips in Pennsylvania or Maryland (Casselman River, Savage River and North Branch of the Potomac River), Fly Fishing Casting and Fly Tying lessons, supplies and Float Trips on a 10-mile stretch of the Youghiogheny River. From beginners to experienced anglers, your experience here will be one of a lifetime!

All Nemacolin fly fishing trips are catch and release only. A valid PA and / or MD fishing license is required.
